Summer Progress
June has drawn to a close, looking back on the days,
I recall some of what has been done,
Much that is not done stares me in the face,
as I rise to another bright sun.
I'm looking for wisdom to measure my days,
the depth and the width and the length.
What can be added to lack in my ways?
Is there wisdom and order and strength?
I throw up my hands in surrender again,
to overcome motivation's short length.
One answer comes, grant it, and amen;
The joy of the Lord is my strength.
As summer comes on. pick it up once again,
trusting Father for strength to go on.
The joy for the day comes from doing, and then,
I see that "begun is half done.
