Sins of Omission
When my friend,was in pain, I was a little busy,
finding the best way to wear my hair.
When my mentor was honored, in a tizzy,
forgetting the occasion, I wasn't there.
Now, these are things we can't turn back again;
I'll remember when my pain is felt alone,
that we've been warned when hurts go by unheeded,
the blame and consequences are my own.
Thanks for the opportunities I'm given,
to apply the humbling lessons I have learned.
Forgiven, even loved, assured of Heaven,
I ask, "Please keep my attitude thus turned.
